Transforming Emotional Habits

I am passionate about working with individuals and couples who are deeply curious about themselves, and who genuinely want to move beyond habitual limitations to a fuller, freer life. I draw from over twenty years of counseling experience to assist you in this journey.

My work draws strongly from somatic and mindfulness-based psychotherapies which are informed by recent findings in neuroscience. I am trained and certified in both Hakomi, and PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy). Both of these methods of individual and couples psychotherapy involve working  through an experiential arc of  experimentation and exploration in real time to develop new ways of thinking, feeling, and being.  In this way, individual and couples therapy is not limited to talk, intellectual analysis, or speculation, but rather is grounded through the understanding informed by direct experience. It is through experience that we learn most efficiently and how new neural pathways are developed. Through direct experience, new perceptions of oneself, signficant others, and the world emerge. With new perceptions, new choices and possibilities arise. It is through this process that our life and relationships change. More >>

I also integrate EMDR into my therapeutic work. EMDR is an efficient and well researched method that is often able to facilitate dramatic shifts in experience when there has been an overwhelming impact on the nervous system from trauma or loss. It has also proven highly effective with performance enhancement in work and athletics.  More >>

My involvement with Men’s Work spans two decades. I believe it is essential for men to develop our potential to embody our most mature masculine qualities; where power and strength are not compromised, but are informed by love, responsibility and a deep need to make a difference with this life.  More >>
